I expressed my perm sonal gratification for the Ambassador's complimentary references to tha Department, and stated that I had hasrd a great many Savor- able coments about the goad work which he hns bean doing in liberia. Anbassador Dudley referred to the banate Appropriation Committee's unfavorable action en the Point Four appropriation, and said that be was greetly distarbad over this aetion which ent the $35,000,000 figure for Point Poux to (10,000,000. I assurad the Ambassador that I too was distressed over this action and that the Presidant regardad it as most unfortmate.
