888 CONFIDENTIAL 231 August 24, 1950. MEMORANDUM OF CONVERSATION WITH THE PRESIDENT Item No. 1 ARCHIVES SERVICE* 'NATIONAL RECORDA AND is Trip to Canada I t ook up with the President the question of my trip to Canada, as proposed by the Canadain Ambassador. He is of the opinion that it would be very useful for me to make such a trip as guest of the Canadian Government. He did not think the accepting of an honorary degree was very important, although he did not recommend necessarily that I decline to accept it if I wished to do so. (I should take up the matter with the Canadian Ambassador at an early date.) DECLASSIFIED E. O. 11652, Sec. 3(E) and S(D) or (E) Dept. of State letter, AUg 201973 03-16-76 By NLT- HC NARS Date 6.18 S:DA:be CENTIDINITILL
