Meeting with the President
1. Possible State Visits
I discussed with the President the possibility of further
State visits this year, including that of the Queen of the
Netherlands. The President feels very strongly that he
will not wish to have any visits following that of the
President of Ecuador until the White House is restored.
He believes that under present estimates, this should be
sometime in November. We could tell a little more about
this in a short time.
We discussed whether or not he wished Miss Truman
to speak in any way to the Queen of the Netherlands about it
and he thought it would be better not to do ao.
