GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE 16-61120-1 In accordance with the President's request of September 25 I arrived at the White House at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, October 12, and waited in the Red Room with the others designated to attend the meeting. The President sent for Mr. Stowe and ten minutes later asked myself and the others to come to his office. Chairman Nyrop laid before the President a map graphically depicting the recommendations of the Civil Aeronautics Board for a pattern of air routes to be operated by United States and Mexican air carriers under the proposed agreement. The position presented was identical with that outlined in paragraph A2 of the briefing memorandum from E dated October 11. Before Mr. Nyrop had completed his presentation, Mr. Stowe questioned him and the Department's representatives on the economic justification for two United States and one Mexican route between New York and Mexico City, two via New Orleans and one via Dallas, particularly in DECLASSIFIEN E.O. 10501 PESTRICTID
