Very little activity except in s/s VAUX, s/s BOUEE. 10 Cal. 77 on vicinity of Mont sous le COTES. 10 Cal. 105, objective unknown. s/s DERAMEE. 40 Cal. 77 on sector, objective unknown. s/s TAVANNES. 20 Cal. 105 on roads north of EIX. s/s VAUX. 25 Cal. 77 oand 60 Cal. 150, vicinity of P.C. NORMANDIE, 61 Cal. 105 and 66 Cal. 150 on Fort de VAUX, 75 Cal. 77 and 23 Cal. 150 on C.R. DUPRAT 25 Cal. 210 on VERDUN and 200 Cal. 150 on back areas. About 50% of shells in sector were gas. Active batteries in HERMEVILLE, HAUTECOURT, FROMEZEY, MORGEVILLE and SPINCOURT groups. VI. ENEMY MOVEMENT. Visibility good except in northern half of sector where haze over marshy land did not lift until 13:00h. From 10:50h to 11:15h one train from vicinity of ETAIN to Bois de MORANVILLE. 13:45h one train from WARCQ to ETAIN. One train north and one train south from ET AIN at about 16:00h. Unusual train movement was observed in enemy rear areas, It is evident that an important troop movement was made by en emy yester day in the vicinity of ETAIN. At 13:35h to 14:30h about one regiment of Infantry and wagon train were seen moving northwest along ROUVRES-LONGEUN Fme. road to the route NATIONALE, running north from ETAIN. A battalion of infantry and a wagon train of 175 wagons moved from ROUVRES to ETAIN at 13:35h, thence north and joined the main column on the route NATIONALE. Numerou small groups vereseen moving on Ville-en-WOEVRE-HENNEMONT road, HERMEVILLE-WARCQ road, and in the vicinity of MORGEVILLE. At 15:15h to 16:00h about 70 wagons were seen moving in the direction of HERMEVILLE form GRIMACOURT and from south of HERMEVILLE, thence in small groups toward WARCQ. At 16:00h small groups of troops were seen moving from HERMEVILLE toward WARCQ. VII. ENEMY WORKS. At 10:28h one German seen working on road at U-44.55, At 11:26 two Germans working on road at U-38.64. VIII. ENEMY AERONAUTICS. Elight enemy planes over our lines during period. Balloons.
