LUTTENBACH (2 kilometers southwest of MUNSTER) west along the heights north of the PECHT to ROSPELWALD - GASCHNEYKOPF - ciroling the HONECK to REITHWAID-- LAC de FISCHBODLE---.W. Southern Limit. Line parallel to the course of the LAUCH and the STEINLEBACHIINZ and 200 m. to the North of these (ex- clusive*- ODEREN-- .DRUMONT (inclusive) Infantry occupying this segment is the 70th Infantry Brigade, P.C. at PAYROU, composed of the 139th Infantry, P.C. at LEYMAYEUR, and the 140th Infantry, P.C. at LARCHEY. Artillery occupying this Segment is the U.S. 129th F.A., P.C. at PAYROU, (lst Bn. P.C. - GIERAT, 2nd Bn.P.O. - LARCHEY , and the U.S. 130th F.A. less 1 battalion. P.C. - BIREES. French: 6 piedes -- 90 ; 2 pieces -- 95; 4 pieces -- 120 Li 4 pieces de 155 BAQUET; 8 pieces -- 65. MISSION: Of Infantry to asgure posecsion of the Valley of the THUR, which is provided for by a plan of resistance consisting of: (1) advanced lire -- 05.69, 01.63, 13.54, 12.40, 08.27, 01.20, 01.10, 14.96, 15.84, 38.71 (a) The intermediate position: Following the general line GASCHN- EYKOPF 82.67, SILLAKER KOPF, 93.61, curving to the East along that slope to 96.55, in the Valley of the FECHT of MITTLACH, passing STEIN-ABRUCH (exclusive), and passing along the top of the ridge ANLASS-RAMPK SCHNEPFENREITH--LAUCHENWALD, to point 03.81, due East, passing along the crest of KLINTZ KOPF to point 96.81, then southwest along the southern slope of KLINTZ KOPF to point 93.86, to 95.70, 00.63. (3) The second position: Following the general line, HONECK--RHEIN= KOPF--SCHVEIS WEISEN--BREITFIRST. Of Artillery to support the Infantry in ite mission and to comply with Par. 5 of the "Plan of Defense" issued by the 35th Division the 31st July, 1918 which fixes as the principal x zone of action of the Artillery the region of HILSENFIRST, to which has been added a zone of action in the region of the KIOSQUE. DISPOSITION: The greatest number of batteries have been placed in such positions that they will normally accomplish this mission, while several batteries in the valley of MITTLACH have a, different normal mission in the region of the KIOSQUE, with the possibility, except in the dase of one battery, of firing an eventual programme in reinforgement of the HILSEN batteries/
