I.
GENERAL IMPRESSION OF THE DAY.
Quiet. En emy continuxes to be alert, Slight increase intermittant
machine gun fire throughout sector during night. Aeroplanes somewhat active in
s/s TAVANNES, otherwise normal.

ENEMY INFANTRY.
En emy patrols reported active in s/s BOUEE and s/s DERAMEE. Intermittant
machine gun fire slightly increased throughout sector. Some grenades report ed in
s/s DERAMEE. Otherwise enemy infantry quiet but alert.
V.
ENEMY ARTILLERY.
Usual harassing fire throughout sector, particularly in C.R. DAMLOUP and
s/s TAVANNES.
s/s BOUEE. 20 Cal. 77 on MANHEULLES and vicinity and 30 Cal. 105 in
vicinity of RONVAUX. Total shells for s/s: 40 Cal. 77 and 30 Cal. 105.
s/s DERAMEE. Reports some activity from HERMEVILLE group and back areas
of sub+sector.
s/s TAVANNES. 62 Cal. 105 and 26 Cal. 77 (11 of which were gas) fell in
the
forward areas and on the front lines of C.R. DAMLOUP. 26 Cal. 105 and 20 Cal.
77 fell in the vicinity of EIX. 6 Cal. 105 on Fort de VAUX. 16 Cal. 105 and 5 Cal,
77 on back areas of sub-sector. -
Total shells on s/s: 110 Cal. 105 and 51 Cal. 77.
s/s VAUX reports 111 Cal. 155 and 15 Cal. 105 on VAUX and vicinity, 49
Cal. 155 and 17 Cal. 105 on Fort de VAUX, 3 Cal. 155 in vicinity
of
P.C.
MURAT
and 6 Cal. unknown and some intermittant fire on back areas.
Total for s/s: 163 Cal. 155 and 22 Cal. 105.
Total for entire sector: 163 Cal. 155, 162 Cal. 105 and 91 Cal. 77.
Active batteries in the HAUTICOURT AND FROMEZEY groups.

Visibility poor. No movement of importance reported.

ENEMY AERONAUTICS.
Four enemy planes reported north part of sectormduring period, one of which
flew very low over our lines in s/s VAUX, dropping what appeared to be signals in
the vicinity of point T-52.85, then circled and returned to enemy lines firing
machine gun.
