I. ROSTER OF OFFICERS
The following telegrom is publishod for the information of
nll concorned,
Brigado, Regimontal and Separate Unit Commanders will submit
to
these Hecdquar ters by the afternoon courier on Sunday, February
2nd, 1919, a complete Roster of Officers, by grade, of their
command and showing opposite each neme whether or not the officer
desires to remain on duty in the A.E.F. and whether or not he
dosires to apply for permanent commission.

1855 G-l. By direction of General Head quar tors you are advised
that the minimum of officers roquired with organizations return-
ing to the United States is es follows: Division Headquarters, one
general officer and fivo field officers, no more than three of
whom may be regulor officers; Brigade Headquarters, two field
officers or one general officer and one fiold officer, not more
than one of whom may be a regular officer; seperate battalion or
train, one field officor, who may be a regular officer; company.

accordance with above and prior to departure of organizations of
your command from their present station please make immediate
selection of these officers to accompany their organizations to
the United States, taking action with reference to remainder as
follows: immediately prior to departure of organization from
present station to a base port surplus régular officers, surplus
temporary officers of demonstrated efficiency who desires to
remain in the A. E. F., and surplus temporary officers who desire
to apply for permanent commission and who are recommended for
seme by their Divisions, Artillery Brigade or Separate organiza-
tion commanders will be sent to Combat Officers' Roplacement Depot,
Gondrecourt, Names of genoral officers and field officers to be
reported at once by wire to Adjutant Gonorel, Hoadquarters A.E.F.
General Officers to be accompanied by authorized aides. Any re-
maining surplus temporary officers no t included in above to
accompany their organizations to the United States. These instruct-
ions are not applicable to colored organizations. All white
officers on duty with such organizations will accompany such
commands to the United States.
