Gen Clark's PIO issued the fol statement today:

"Status of Kor Sea defense zone unchanged."

"In reply to queries, a spokesman for the UN Command today

stated that recent press stories implying changes in the status

of the sea defense zone in Kor waters or in the enforcement of
IBS
restrictions in the zone are without foundation. No changes
have been made, he said, and none are contemplated.
The estab of the sea defense zone in Kor waters was announced
on 27 Sep, 1952 by Gen Mark W. Clark, Commander in Chief,
UN Command for the purpose of preventing attacks on the coast
of Kor, securing UN sea lines of communication and preventing the
introduction of contraband or enemy agents into our ROK territory."
