Brought up 1400 career people out of jobs while 50,000 War Service
employees are still retained in Washington area. Wants the Cabinet to
screen this very carefully - Wants the separations handled fairly.
Asked State and Treasury to look into merits of a suggested loan
to Mexico for hoof and mouth program.
TREASURY
Discussed the fiscal difficulties of British Govt.
LOVETT
Difficult to work out program with British conferees as they do
not have the will to pull themselves out of their present position.
