Economic Council has made a very edifying report. Asked Dr. Nourse
to report to Cabinet.

This report is most interesting.
ANDERSON
Called upon the Council to make recommendations - not pose a di-
lemma. Real relief will call for Congressional action. These boards &
commissions should stick their necks and come up with recommendations.
THE PRESIDENT
Ordered A. G., Anderson and Harriman to develop all the facts in
re commodity exchanges and speculation in grain.
Stated that Gen Fleming has visited Louisiana, Miss., , Fla - to
coordinate Hurricane Damage relief activities and the officials in that
area are well satisfied.
