THE PRESIDENT
Next Friday Jess Larson will report to Cabinet on Public
Bldg situation.
I. T. 0. is in a bad way. We we are not careful the bill
is going to be defeated. It is a joint resolution which should
be passed.
ACHESON
Hearings start on next Tuesday. There is a good deal of
opposition but everything is being done.
We have been trying to get British to hold planes which
were furnished to China Nationals and not release them to the
Communists. They have been very stubborn about it.
FOLEY
Tax hearings are going forward. Will continue for 2 or
3 weeks at which time the kind of bill we get will be known.
MCGRATH
Justice is prepared to go ahead on Court injunction in
coal strike.
THE PRESIDENT
Warned McGrath to bear down on operators as well as Lewis -
operators are just as bad.
DONALDSON
Described the stamp swindle of Harold Ambrose. Was on the
Hill yesterday on bill to change postal rates. It passed House
