My dear Bob:
This is in acknowledgment of your letter of
April nineteenth seeking advice as to the manner in which
you should answer letters from Honorable A1 Horstman and
Honorable John Kelly on the Palestine question. x
TRUMAN
As long as you honor me with this inquiry I am
frank to say that I should advise extreme caution. I en-

any correspondence interpreting or explaining the Pres-
ident's position on this highly controversial question
be signed by the Chairman.
As you are, of course, aware, the Department
of State has issued a large number of releases bearing
on developments over Palestine during the last several
months. The latest and most authoritative statement by
the President is the one which I enclose.
It is always a pleasure to hear from you.
