Dear Sol:
I certainly appreciated your letter of the
twentieth very much and I am discussing
x20
the matter with the State Department.
As you know, I have to be very careful not
to do anything that will eut the ground from
x85 - A
under our program of the United Nations
which, of course, is to get peace in Palestine
if we possibly can and then try to work the
x204
matter out. It is almost an impossible job
because of the emotional factors which enter
into the settlement but I still have hope that
we will get it worked out,
I do appreciate your interest in the matter
and your constructive suggestions
to it.
BARIONAL AND
RECORES
Sincerely yours,
SERVICE
C.
HARRY S. TRUMAN
Honorable Sol Bloom
