CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA x 105 WASHINGTON 6, D. C. OFFICE OF THE MANAGER 286-A July 11, 1949 To the Organization Executive: What happens to socialized-medicine proposals at the next session of Congress depends on the swing of public sentiment during the next few months. Your organization can help develop sentiment against the adoption of these proposals. You can act now to influence congressional action next year. The enclosed pamphlet, YOU AND SOCIALIZED MEDICINE, is one of the tools you can use. It presents the case against socialized medicine in simple language. It gives basic facts that thought leaders can get hold of - and use. But it is up to you to put this pamphlet to work! Send a copy to each member of your organization. He can use the ideas in conversations with friends, neighbors, employees. He can pass the cory along to an influential acquaintance - and perhaps order additional copies for distribution to a selected list. Send a copy to non-member thought leaders. Editors, ministers, doctors, teachers, service and women's club leaders, officers of fraternal and health groups - these are people whose influence is important! It takes l'extra effort" to reach them, but in view of the importance and implica- tions of the issue, can you afford not to make such effort? An order form is enclosed in the pamphlet. If you need a few copies for examination by your committeemen, officers or directors, just fill in the blank below and return this letter to us. Sincerely, ARCHIVES NATIONAL AND RECOPOS SERVICE To help us decide if - and how - our organization can make use of YOU AND SOCIALIZED MEDICINE, please send copies, without charge, to: Name Organization City and State
