Vass retires 11/12/19 596-A 3 November 1947 Dear lits: Honry H. Vaughan I agree with you that the Civil # Rights Committee report is a very contraversial Invitation matter I have a copy of this report on my desk although I have not as yet had time to look it over. There are some nequities in the political as woll as the economical field that could be re- vised and probably should be. However, we both know that social inequalities cannot be changed by regulations. in I would like very much to take that deer hunt that you mentioned, but frou the looks of my schedule now it would be impossible to get away from here for any length of time. I hope the day will come when the situation can change but I don't know how soon that will be. Sincerely, HARRY H. VAUGHAN Major General, U. S. Army Military Aide to the President Mr. F. H.
