Dear Senator Ferguson:
I am sorry that I have been unavoidably delayed
in this written reply to your inquiry of August 2 concerning
our employment of William W. Remington.
As I informed the legal counsel of your Committee over
the telephone, these matters as related to agencies in the
Executive Office of the President had to be referred to the
White House. I am now happy to inform you that the files
