MATTHEW J. CONNELLY
Secretary to the President
Letter dated 7/25/47 to the P. from:
Honorable Frank Carlson,
Governor of Kansas,
Topeka, Kansas.
Writes about the Palestine issue and says the U. S. should take the
initiative towards solving this pressing international problem. Since
the problem has been referred to the United Nations and will take some
time for recommendations to be forthcoming, he thinks some interim
arrangement should be made whereby the Jewish refugees of Europe will
be permitted to go to Palestine. Asks the President to initiate action.
