My dear Coravallene:
I am indeed sorry that I must return,
unsigned, the cards which you and Elsie May Zailes
enclosed with your note of May sixteenth to
the President. I feel sure you will under-
stand when I tell you that so many matters
are demanding the President's time just now
that it is impossible for him to comply with
requests for his signature.
