My dear Mr. Frye:
I have for acknowledgment your letter of
July thirteenth and wish it were possible to com-
ply with your request for the President's auto-
graph on the wedding invitation you enclosed.
Unfortunately, however, the President is so busy
with the many urgent official duties which con-
front him daily that he has been forced to suspend
the practice of autographing.
Nevertheless, I want to extend to you and
your fiance, on behalf of the President, congratula-
tions and best wishes.
