Mr. Kenneth S. Imel 4815 West Alder Place Phone R. 0131 San Diego, California May 25, 1946 Honoraple Harry S. Truman President of the United States Washington, D. C. Your Honor: Congratulations on your two speeches concerning adequate labor legislation: the one on Friday evening, May24, and the other today, Saturday, May 25. I am a Democrat and have always been in favor of "labor", but during our recent reconversion program, labor has taken undue advantage of the situation. Your talks have clearly outlined our problems and, I believe, werevery timely. As a popular move from the point of view of the Democratic Party, your speeches have gained many votes for Democrats. It is always well to let the public know the facts. When the legislature knows that the public knows, they realize that they have to act. If labor and management clan be held in check for the next few months and let production continue, the Democratic Party has a good chance of success in the elections during the next two years. I agree that Price Control should continue as a part of the complete program. Very sincerely, Kenneth S. Imel
