Hon. Harry S. Truman,
Dear Mr.President-It was with regret that a gruop of
representative ladies discussed an article which appear-
ed recently in Life Magazine, with pictures.
It told of a group of men, of whom you were one; stopp-
ing at an eating place where beer was not served and
ordering it.
It had to be gotten somewhere else and brought in and
served where it was not legal to serve it.
We are sure you could not have forseen the far reach-
ing affect it could have on our youth, who might be embolden-
ed to break the law if they thought the President of United
States thought nothing of doing it.
We also deplored your having drunk the beer knowing
how your wife and daoghter must feel about it.
