Mr. White, wi th Carl Byor Associates,
called to ask if it would be possible for
the President to send a message to Howard
Huges to cheer him up after his accident.
He is at the Good Samaritan Hospital in
Los Angeles. He said the late President
had written to Mr. Hughes but he didn't
know whether or not President Truman knows
Mr. Hughes personally.
Ed Brown says he sees no harm in sending
such a message al Lthough he can't find out
what side of the fence Mr. Hughes is on.
Mr. Brown thinks it would be a nice friendly
gesture for the President to do it.
