Dear Mr. Finley:
I was at the Capitol Building on F Friday for luncheon
with the Vice President and the Speaker. I talked
with them at great length about the White House
chandeliers which Theodore Roosevelt threw out of
the White House and which the Congress took over,
There are seven of those chandeliers in the Capitol
Building. I wonder if you wouldn't make it your
business to discuss those chandeliers with the Vice
President and the Speaker - find out where they are
all situated and see what chance there is of getting
at least four of them back into the White House,
That botch job of Theodore Roosevelt and Stanford
White on the White House in 1902 was something to
"yap" about - I never heard of the Fine Arts Com-
mission going into that situation.
