MEMORANDUM FOR MR. ELSEY:
Attached is a copy of the State Department's
record of the conversation between the President and
Prime Minister St. Laurent. This was sent to me by
McWilliams. I have written him a note saying that this
seems to me to be an accurate record, and enclosing a
copy of the notes on the same meeting which I made and
of which I sent you a copy.
You will note that I made the unpardonable
error of leaving Mr. Short's name off the list of par-
ticipants. He was there and I wish you would change
the heading of my notes accordingly.
