Dear Mr. Ambassador:
I certainly appreciated your good letter of August
fifth regarding the situation in the Dominican
Republic.
It is the policy of the newspapers to try to embar-
rassoublic officials if there is the slightest oppor-
tunity for doing so. If I were you, I would pay no
attention to that misquotation but go right ahead
and do the job a.s it should be done - then they will
have to like it.
