PRESIDENT CHARLES DeGAULLE
PRESIDENT OF THE PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT OF THE FRENCH REPUBLIC
ON AUGUST 22, 1945.

ARRIVAL in WASHINGTON:
The visiting dignitaries will be met at the Washington National
Airport at 4:00 p.m. by:
The Secretary of State.
Ambassador Bonnet.
Mr. Jefferson Caffery, American Ambassador to France.
Mr. Dunn, Assistant Secretary of State.
General Vaughan, Military Aide to the President.
Commodore Vardaman, Naval Aide to the President.
Mr. Summerlin, Chief of Protocol.
Mr. H. Freeman Matthews, State Department.
ARCAIVES PRATIONAL REDORDS
Mr. Woodward, Chief of Division of Protocol.
Mr. Paul T. Culbertson, State Department.
Mr. James C. H. Bonbright, State Department.
Brig. Gen. Sumner waite, American Military Aide to General DeGaulle.
Captain W. G. Michelet, U.S.N., American Naval Aide to Gen. DeGaulle.
The President's Military and Naval Aides will drive to the airport in
a White House car which will then be used as Car No. 1 for the drive to the
White House.
Mr. Summerlin and Ambassador Bonnet will meet President DeGaulle and
his party as they alight from the plane and will escort President DeGaulle and
his party to the Reception Committee which will be in line, inside of the
