My dear Mr. President:
The Petroleum Administration for Defense is watching the
oil strike very carefully and taking all actions within its power
to adjust the lessened petroleum supply in such a way as to achieve
a maximum of results with a minimum of inconvenience on the part of
the public.
Attached is a three and a half page summary of the strike
situation as it existed on the evening of May 6.
