New York City 101 W. 89th Street Apartment 3 June 10, 1948 Valichka, Misha, Vova, and Yurik, beloved and close to my heart : I kiss you affectionately and send my heart- felt greetings : We shall see one another very, very soon. I dream every day, every hour, and every minute of the moment of our meeting It seems that even now I see the shores of our distant, vast and beloved fatherland! Our first walk together. This was in the woods, ravines, and meadows near Moscow. I believe that all of you, the whole family, will not deny me this pleasure This is all that fills my head now. I want to rest in those meadows and fields where my Alik, Vova, and Yurik used to be together with us! Now I and some of my colleagues. I will wire you about my departure. I have gone through a lot About this (I will tell you) at home. Yours, (signature illegible) * The imprint of a flower makes several words illegible.
