MEMORANDUM FOR THE JOINT CHIEFS OF STAFF
SUBJECT: Augmentation of the Wartime Republic of
Korea Army and Marine Corps
I refer to your memoranda of 26 September and
10 October 1952 and to my letter to the President
of the United States, dated 25 October 1952, con-
cerning augmentation of the ROK Army and Marine
Corps.
The President has approved the request in my
letter of 25 October 1952 that United States sup-
port be authorized for a wartime Republic of Korea
Army of twelve divisions and six separare regiments
and an over-all ROK Army and Marine ceiling of
463,000. The Joint Chiefs of Staff are hereby noti-
fied of this authorization and directed to undertake
appropriate implementing action.
