July 24, 1946 Dear John: I appreciated your letter of the twenty- second about the Displaced Persons situa- tion in the American Zone. For your information Displaced Persons from every Zone in Germany, Austria and Poland are doing everything possible to get into the American Zone. We simply can't take care of all of them - it is not our business to take care of all of them and eventually there will have to be a limit, much as I regret it. Sincerely yours, MARRY S. TRUMAN Honorable John W. McCornack House of Representatives Washington, D. C.
