President Truman has twice received Mr. V. M. Molotov,
Vice Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars and
People's Commissar for Foreign Affairs of the USRR, during
his short stay in Washington.
The Secretary of State has
conferred with Mr. Molotov and Mr. Anthony Eden, Secretary
of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom
on the Polish situation and on matters connected with the
San Francisco Conference.
In view of the limited time at their disposal in
Washington prior. to the opening of the San Francisco
on medurity
Conference and in order to permit Mr. Molotov to consult

with his Government following these conversations, the
discussions in regard to the Polish situation will be
continued by the three foreign secretaries at San Francisco.
