My dear Mr. Bowers:
You don't know how very much I appreciated
your good letter of May twenty-third and
your unofficial statement on Spain en-
closed with your letter.
I am certainly glad to have this viewpoint
for it gives se a better understanding of
the situation in that unhappy country.
I hope you are having a pleasant tour of
duty in Chile and I also hope you will keep
me informed on subjects, in which you think
I am interested, whenever the spirit moves
you.
