My dear Mr. President:
I take pleasure in presenting to you
a copy of a Safety Survey of the White House
which was made by the Navy Department at your
request.
Twenty-three additional copies of
this survey will be delivered to Mr. H. R. Crim,
the Chief Usher. In view of the very complete
and detailed description of the safety and fire
hazards of the White House, I suggest that the
various copies of the survey be treated as
confidential.
