Dear Mr. President:
Mr. Joseph D. Lohman of the National
Committee on Segregation in the Nation's
Capital has just written me of the suc-
cess they have had in St. Louis in keep-
ing their swimming pools unsegregated.
He tells me that the courageous atti-
tude shown by the administration in
supporting democratic principles in
the "ashington situation has helped
AND
the situation all over the country.
You and Secretary Chapman have shown
great courage in bring this about.
It is these step by step achievements
which will in the end bring us real
equal rights in our own nation.
