(Laughter) H--Well, of course C--With all the good will in the world. I mean--. H--Yeah, the good will's all right. of course, you see, that's bureaucracy at work. C--By the way, what did happen to MICHAEL STRAIGHT (Phon.)? Could he tell you? Where is MICHAEL now? H--I don't know where he is now, but I got a letter from him thanking us. C--I know he did, and I did and he was very grateful, but I just simply, as a matter of curiousity, wondered where he was now. H--I really don't know where he is now. C--I bet you he's down in the B-29 school, down in Roswell. H--I wouldn't be a bit surprised. I haven't heard from him. C--Well, thanks, and I'm awfully sorry for being such a persistent H--Anything that will bring you to my office, I'm glad of. but sometimes, in order to get results for you or for anybody else, one has to be a P.B., a persistent b H--That's one reason I love you, Tommy. All right. Goodbye. C--Goodbye. 4:48pm CORCORAN to Secretary ICKES, asking if he had a good talk with SUMNER (Phon.). Ans: Yes. 5:02pm Mrs. BEHAN contacted Mr. ENGELS (Phon.) and told him that he should contact Mr. WILLIAM YAGER (Phon.) at REpublic 3525 when he is ready to leave. (RE 3525 is Mr. CORCORAN'S office)
