347 62-4 - -3- specified under items (a), (b) and (c) above by direct purchases, and to meet other essential United States governmental and military needs for Chinese currency, the Government of the Republic of China will provide funds of its ourreney, in amounts and at intervale to be autually agreed upon, to the duly authorized authorities of the United States. 3. The practical application of the principles formu- lated in this note, including the procedure by which re- quests for aid by either Government are made and ested upon, shall be worked out as occasion may require by agreement between the two Governments, acting when poseible] through their appropriate military or civilian administrative authorities. Requeste by the United States Government for such aid will be presented by duly authorized authorities of the United States to official agencies of the Republic of China which will be designated or established in Chung- king and in the areas where United States forces are located for the purpose of facilitating the proviston of reciprocal aid. 4. It is the understanding of theOovernment of the Republic of China that all such aid, as well as other aid, including information, received under Article 6 of the Agreement of June 2, 1942, accepted by the President to SERVICE* AND RECORDS of the United States or his authorized representative) to something from theGovernment of the Republic of China will be received as a benefit to the United States under the Act of Maroh 11,
