    "ocrText": "J. 333305-MONO-State\nGalley\n89\nUNCORRECTED GALLEY PROOF\nRoosevelt Papers: Telegram\nPrime Minister Churchill to President Roosevelt\n1\nTOP SECRET\nLONDON, January 24, 1945.\n1 Sent by the United States Military Attaché, London, via Army channels.\nPrime Minister to President Roosevelt Personal and Top Secret\nnumber 894.\nIt would be a great pity if Eisenhower and Alexander only come to\nCRICKET and if we do not have them with us at MAGNETO.2 This\n2\nAlexander was present at both Malta and Yalta, but Eisenhower was not.\nThe latter's chief of staff, Lieutenant General Walter Bedell Smith, was, however,\nin attendance at Malta.\nwill really make it impossible for the Heads of Government to enter\nfully into the military problems. This message dealt with details of plans for the flight from\nMalta to Yalta.\n3 Not printed. This message dealt with unfavorable travel conditions from\nthe Crimean airport to Yalta.\nThe approaches to ARGONAUT appear to be much more difficult than\nat first reported. I will have my advance party make recommenda-\ntions as to how I shall travel after Malta.\nI agree that we must notify U. J. as soon as we can fix our schedule\nin the light of present information.\nROOSEVELT"
