    "ocrText": "(\n3:35 P.M.\nJuly 24,1952\nI just had a telephone conversation with Governor Stevenson\nat 3:30 o'clock. He called me and asked me if the situation\ndeveloped to the point where he would be put in nomination\nwould it embarrass me, If it would he would not allow it to\nhappen. I told him it not only would not embarrass me but\nthat it would please me in every way, that 1 have no commit-\nments and if he is nominated I would put forth every effort\npossible to see that he às elected and he will never hear from\nme after the election is over unless he sends for me,\nHe expressed happiness and appreciation for, this statement\nand said that he would not be at the airport to meet me tomorrow\nwhen I arrived in Chicago because the Chairman of the National\nCommittee had advised him it would be better if he were not at\nthe airport. I told him not to worry about that because those\nthings didn't bother me in the slightest. He seemed to be in a\nvery happy frame of mind and I told him that I was very sure\nthat he would not only be put in nomination but that he would be\nnominated,"
