MEMORANDUM FOR: THE PRESIDENT
In discussing the Taft-Hartley
and Minimum Wage Bills with Rayburn, it
is suggested that you might ask him to
strengthen your hand by promptly adopting
this legislation.
In view of the fact that we may
be threatened with two major strikes during
the summer months, the only possibility of
settling these strikes would be on a moral
issue and, of course, settlement can only
be achieved by the President's intervention.
