It was just three years ago that I had the
MUCMAROMEM
pleasure of being with my friends who were gathered
here at Carruthersville. At that time we discussed
the great threat that was then apparent to our country.
Our thoughts were - was it possible to keep America
out of war. At that time the thunderbolt of Nazi
aggression was held above the heads of the civilized
world. Today that thunderbolt has fallen. Today the
Nazi hordes have over-run Poland, France and virtually
every part of Continental Europe.
In the Western Pacific the gangster nation,
the Nipponese, has overwhelmed the Philipines, Malaya,
