A FAVORITE RECIPE OF ROSALYNN CARTER HUMDINGERS (Date Nut Rolls - Makes 3-312 dozen) 1/4 pound margarine 1 (8 ounce) package pitted dates 1 cup chopped nuts 1 cup sugar Pinch salt 1 teaspoon vanilla 112 cups crisp rice cereal Confectioners sugar Melt margarine in large saucepan. Add dates, nuts, sugar and salt. Cook for 8 minutes over low heat. Remove from heat; add vanilla and cereal. Cool until mixture can be worked with hands. Shape into walnut- sized balls, or finger sized rolls. Roll in confec- tioners' sugar.
