This file contains the results from two surveys, the External Survey and the Truck Survey. External Survey data are from a 25-percent sample of trips made by persons entering, leaving, or passing through the Baltimore metropolitan area. The External Survey records have data identifying each trip surveyed by point of entry and exit; month, day, and hour; origin and destination; land use; purpose; and intermediate stop (if made) in the area. Also included are vehicle data identifying the vehicle type and occupancy, including load and commodity for trucks, and sample weights. The Truck Survey contains trip data from a 15-percent sample of trucks registered in the Baltimore metropolitan area. Data identify the truck by the sample number, year of manufacture, truck type, gross weight, industry, mileage, number of stops, and a sample weight. Trip data include month and day of trip; trip number; origin and destination by sub zone, land use, and purpose; time and commodity carried.
