S: We have a request from Cairo. The Egyptians have said that we have
a somewhat garbled XIX text from the Russians, both of the Kosygin and
the Nixon reply. Would we give them a clean English text of both.
K: You are very meticoulous to check with us. I am for it. What's against
it? That the Russians would get mad?
S: We have briefed the Israwlis very well, as Golda Meir said, but we have
never made the texts known to them. If we make it available to the
Egyptians I think we should make it available to the Israelis too.
K: I agree.
S: We are to give it to Beam on the cease fire.
K: It's not a reflection on you. The President did not want to make a talk.
S: It's better for Jake to do it on the overall context.
