Hello.
D:
Henry, how are you.
K:
Jim, I just learned that you asked yesterday at the briefing who paid
for my houses in San Clemente and they are kicking it all over this
place as a research proje ct. So rather than--I can get you the exact
figures if you are interested, but what happens is that I rent a house
either from a private citizen, a Mr. Poland. There are two houses
that I've been using and one of them about seven times and the other
twice. They cost about the same thing and I don't have the exact
figures, but it's always-- always pay five or six hundred dollars on
top of what the per diem is that I get. Let me see, I pay $65 per day
to the owner of the house and -- this is the house in which I was in
the last time, and there's another house for which I paid $100 a day,
which is a little larger. The one that I pay $100 a day is owned by
the San Clemente Inn. Now I pay these out of my own fund that I get
a per diem while I'm there. However, it doesn't cover it. I think
it's $30, the per diem.
D:
Yeah. Let me tell you the--I can give you almost the exact wording
of my question that I asked Jerry Warren. I asked only one question
and I can tell youprecisely what the question was.
K:
There was no implication that there was anything wrong with what you
asked. I mean that you implied that there was anything wrong about it.
D:
I simply asked a question and the question was this: Has the owner of
the San Clemente Inn, whose name I don't even know except it's some-
thing like Paul Priceler or Paul Pressler or something like that--but
I didn't use the name of the man. I said Has the owner of the San
Clemente Inn bought or in any other way furnished Dr. Kissinger with
a house in San Clemente. And Warren said he did not know. Today
he said the question was asked again by Helen Thomas and Warren
said no he hasn't, and that was the end of it as far I was concerned.
Now the background is simply that I was told on the last trip that thi S
was the case. I haven't had time to check it and I haven't had particular
interest--
K:
No, no. The answer is this, so far as I can determine it. The hundred
dollar house, which is the larger one, where I stayed twice--the summer
before this and the summer previous tothat. That house on my second
stay there had been bought by the owner of the San Clemente Inn. On
