K: Well, if you do any reading you will be ahead of me to begin with.
J: I haven't looked at a book for so long.
K: The only way people get me to read books is to stamp Top Secret
on every page.
J: (Laughter) What are your plans? Are you going to
K: I'11 stay here now. How about getting together next week sometime.
Or over the weekend.
J: All right. Listen, I get back on Sunday. Could I do this, Henry: let
me check my situation out and I will have my girl check with yours. Let's
do it that way.
K: Good. And then I'd like to talk with you about the international aspects
of the oil problem.
J: Well, I want to go over the whole picture with you and what our options
are and a few things and I want to hear about especially your trip to China.
K: Well, that's another thing I want to talk with you about. The Chinese,
after you have seen your colleagues visit there, have put a clamp on all
Congressional visits. But they do want you! Seriously.
J: Really?
K: They are very anxious for you to come.
J: They know I am not the other guy, you know.
K: No, no, I am serious. The only two Senators they want to have come
until late next summer is Mansfield to whom they have a long-standing commit-
ment. But the one they are really eager to see is you. And
J: And who?
K: And no one else. Just you.
