MEMORANDUM FOR H. R. HALDEMAN
FROM:
HERBERT G. KLEIN
NH.K.
I have a particular problem which I would appreciate your bringing
up with the President at an appropriate time in the near future.
Carroll Rosenbloom, who you know to be the new owner of the Rams
and a former owner of the Colts, has an application in for member-
ship in the Bel Air Country Club.
The President is an honorary member of the club. It now has one
Jewish member, and Carroll would be the second. If the President
felt he wanted to intervene, he could write a letter to Rosenbloom
saying how pleased he is that Carroll is seeking club membership,
or he could intervene in another way.
I would suggest consideration of the former, but not the latter. I
know he understands all the implications of this. The request comes
from Dan Klosterman, who is Carroll's General Manager, and also
a member of the Country Club. Additionally, he is a longtime friend
of mine.
Please advise what action is taken.
