Burns Any SUBJECT: Campus Disorders Bend group In accordance with your request, I have communicated with university professors at many institutions across the country, and I have received from them very thoughtful analyses of the problem of disorder in our colleges. There is much greater agreement among these professors than I would have supposed. First, they generally agree: (1) That a small, nationally organized, group of protestors, usually associated with SDS, are behind the demonstrations; (2) That this small group is bent on the destruction of the university (and other institutions) rather than reform; (3) That this group owes much, if not most, of the success it has achieved to the widespread support of other students and faculty members.
