OAS PAN AMERICAN DAY CEREMONY PAN AMERICAN UNION MONDAY, APRIL 14, 1969 THE PRESIDENT: At 10:50 a. m. you and the First Lady will depart the White House by motorcade arriving at the front entrance of the Pan American Union at approximately 10:55 a.m. You will be met by Mr. Paul Murphy, Chief of Protocol of the OAS, who will escort you to the main door of the building where the Secretary-General of the OAS, Don Galo Plaza and Mrs. Plaza, and Chairman of the OAS, Carlos Holguin and Mrs. Holguin will be waiting to greet you. The band will play Ruffles and Flourishes and then "Hail to the Chief. 11 You and your party will proceed into the main lobby advancing to the top of the south stairs where Vice Chairman and Mrs. Luis Alvardo and the Assistant Secretary-General, Dr. M. Rafael Urguia and Mrs. Urguia will join the group as you proceed to the Office of the Secretary-General. Arriving in the Secretary-General's Office at approximately 11:05 a.m. you and your party will form a reception line to receive the Ambassadors and their wives from all the member States. After the introduction Mrs. Nixon and the ladies will be escorted to their seats in the Hall of Americas and the Ambassadors will take their places on the platform.
