TALK TO MEN ON THE MOON
This is an epic day in the history of man. We on Earth
are thrilled and proud beyond measure to see you there on the
Moon.
You have dreamed the impossible, dared the impossible
and done the impossible -- and people everywhere stand taller
because of it.
In touching the Moon, you have touched eternity. In
setting foot on the Moon, you have carried mankind across the
threshold of the heavens. It may be many years before we fully
comprehend the magnificence of this moment. But already, we
see that man's destiny is defined not by the bounds of the Earth,
but by the sweep of God's creation. Already we see a new domain
for man in the realms beyond Earth. Already we have a new
awareness of what man can achieve here on Earth.
By going in peace for all mankind, you have made all of us,
everywhere, in this exalted moment, one people - a fellowship
of man with a foothold in the sky. As one people, we ask the
blessing of the Almighty on your mission, and we await your safe
return to a welcoming Earth.
